  ITINERARY

Day 1: Arriving into Bogota - Collected from Airport - Monseratte - Gold Museum
Greeted at the airport for a transfer to the hotel. After checking in, collect for a trip to Monserrate, which is a hill that dominates the city center of Bogotá, the capital city of Colombia. The highest point is at 3,152 meters above sea level, where there is a church with a shrine, devoted to El Señor Caído. The viewpoint provides specular 360-degree scenery of this impressive city. Duration: 2 hours. After Monserrate, there will be a chance for lunch before heading to the Gold Museum in the afternoon. The museum displays a selection of pre-Colombian gold and other metal alloys, such as Tumbaga, and contains the largest collection of gold artefacts in the world in the exhibition rooms. Duration: 2 hours.

Day 2: Trip to the Salt Cathedral in Zipaquiera - Afternoon at Lake Guatavita
Collected after breakfast for a 2-hour drive to the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá. The salt cathedral is an underground Roman Catholic church built within the tunnels of a salt mine 200 meters underground in a mountain near the city of Zipaquirá, in Cundinamarca, Colombia. Duration: 2 ½ hours. There will be a break afterward for lunch before a transfer to Lake Guatavita where we will walk and explore a sacred site to the Muisca people, who cast elaborate gold offerings into its depths, inspiring the legend of El Dorado and several ill-fated attempts to drain the lake. Duration: 3 hours. Returning to the hotel at 6 pm.

Day 3: Transfer from hotel to Airport for a flight to Pereira - Transfer to Filandia/Salento
Collected in the morning for a flight to Pereira. Upon arrival in Pereira transfer to the hotel in Filandia or Salento. Afternoon exploring this beautiful town and taking in the views from the mirador. Rest of the day to relax. Additional options are available upon request.

Day 4: Day trip to Valle del Cocora - Walk/Bike or Horse ride
Collected from the hotel for a day trip to Valle del Cocora. Valle del Cocora is home to the largest palm in the world (up to 60m tall) which are known as Colombia's national tree. Set amid the misty green hills, they are breath-taking to behold. The valley is protected as part of Unesco's Coffee Cultural Landscape of Colombia Heritage Site. There are many options to explore this beautiful area depending on the client's preference. It can either be hiked (the most popular option), viewed via mount biked which is all downhill descending back to Salento with numerous stops and the opportunity to view "La Carbonera" a hidden gem that is currently not on the tourist radar. Or the client can ride a horse around a shorter route which is still just as impressive.

Day 5: Learning the process of cafe - Option to go to a coffee-themed park (Perfect for kids) or a coffee plantation.

Collected from the hotel in the morning for a trip to Parque del Cafe which is the perfect location for families. It consists of two main areas: by the main entrance are the buildings housing the museum and exhibitions detailing the history, culture, and process of growing and producing coffee in the region; and in the valley beyond is an amusement park with rides and shows. Duration: 6 hours. Another option is to learn the process of the cafe from an authentic coffee plantation. This is a much more in-depth explanation that is perfect for coffee enthusiasts. Duration: 4 hours.

Day 6: Flight from Pereira to Medellin - Afternoon tour of Medellin
Collected from the hotel to catch a flight to Medellin. Upon arrival transfer from the airport and taken to the hotel to drop off luggage and lunch. Collected in the afternoon for a tour of Medellin. This is a 4-hour tour in which the client will explore the innovations and culture of this city. Highlights include -Escaleras Electricas De La Comuna 13 and Plaza Botero. Duration: 4 hours.

Day 7: Day trip to Guatape
Collected from the hotel for a trip to Guatape. This is a beautiful town set on a lake around 2 hours from Medellin. The first stop will be at one of the area's top attractions, Peñol Rock (La Piedra del Peñol). There, you'll have the opportunity to climb more than 700 stairs to reach the top of this popular landmark and enjoy sweeping vistas of Guatape Lake and the surrounding mountains. The client will then go into Guatape for lunch before the tour guide will lead them on an informative historical walk through the picturesque pueblo of Guatape, visiting Calle de Los Recuerdos, Plaza de Los Zocalos and the town square and historic cathedral. There is also programmed into the tour free time in Guatape for the client to explore the city on their own if desired. Watersports are also an option on this day (not included in price) and can be arranged. Duration: 8 hours.

Day 8: Morning free to explore Medellin - Afternoon catching flight to Cartagena
Morning free to explore Medellin. Afternoon flying to Cartagena, transfer from airport to hotel to check in with evening to explore the old town and watch the sunset from one of the many bars and restaurants nearby.

Day 9: Cartagena City Tour
Collected from the hotel to learn about Cartagena's history from a bilingual guide on a tour of this lively city. Private transport between the attractions. This trip visits the clock tower, Plaza Bolivar, and the Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas. The client will also take in the sweeping views of the city from the hilltop Convento De La Popa and enjoy a walking tour from San Pedro Claver Church to Santo Domingo Church. Duration: 4 hours

Day 10: Exploring the Rosario Islands on a Catamaran
Enjoying an unforgettable day aboard a catamaran. Cartagena to the Rosario Islands. Snorkel in an amazing coral reef and experience an underwater kingdom in the crystal clear waters. Travel to Isla Grande, which is a beautiful beach far less overcrowded than beaches such as Playa Blanca. Duration: 7 hours

Day 11: Full day relaxing in Cartagena
Full day relaxing and enjoying the beaches and beautiful old town of the city. Lots of great restaurants and sites to see within the walled old town. Enjoying the last full day in Colombia and the opportunity to dance salsa in the evening at one of the very popular clubs scattered thought the city. Salsa classes can be organised on request.

Day 12: Flight from Cartagena to Bogota - End of Tour
